Research explained
AI governance needs evidence from deployed controls, not only written policies
Qualys frames an operational evidence gap in a product article; organizations should test the claim against their own governance process.
What happened
A July 2026 Qualys article argues that AI governance needs technical evidence of discovery, assessment and remediation, beyond questionnaires and risk registers. It presents TotalAI as the vendor’s approach to that problem.
This is commercial guidance, not a newly disclosed prompt-injection vulnerability. A product’s governance claims should be evaluated through the records and controls it can actually produce in the organization’s environment.
Choose a few testable questions: which deployments exist, who owns them, which sensitive data they can reach and what changed after a finding. Connect policy decisions to those records so that an audit trail reflects operational behavior.
Next step
Connect governance decisions to deployment, permission and remediation evidence.
