What happened

Mercor told TechCrunch it was affected by a security incident linked to the compromised LiteLLM project. The company was investigating with outside specialists after an extortion group claimed access to Mercor data.

The relationship between the group’s claims and the LiteLLM attackers was not established in the report. Claimed theft volumes and leaked samples should not be treated as a verified inventory of all affected information.

Mercor’s work for AI labs does not, by itself, establish a breach of those customers’ infrastructure. Affected users and partners should follow direct notifications and assess access granted to the vendor, while keeping confirmed facts separate from attacker assertions.
