What happened

Vercel’s April 2026 bulletin says a compromise of Context.ai led to takeover of an employee’s Google Workspace account and access to internal Vercel systems. The attacker then reached environment information through that access.

Vercel said it worked with incident responders and notified law enforcement. Its bulletin also states that npm packages published by Vercel were not compromised, a material limit on the incident’s supply-chain implications.

Customers should review direct notifications and the bulletin’s guidance on activity logs, deployments and exposed credentials. Administrators should also review third-party OAuth grants: a productivity integration can create an access path into systems beyond the tool itself.
